Welcome to the Seattle Surgical Society’s 114th year. First, I would like to acknowledge the tremendous work that Dr. Biehl and Dr. Simianu did in putting together our annual meeting and the wonderful Monday evening meetings they organized last year!
I am happy to announce our 2024 Seattle Surgical Society Board:
President-Elect: Nicole White, MD
Past President: Tom Biehl, MD
Secretary: Elina Quiroga, MD
Treasurer: Laila Rashidi, MD
Historian: Kaj Johansen, MD
Board of Governors:
– Samantha Quade, MD
– Jared Brandenberger, MD
– Kate Mandell, MD
– Colette Inaba, MD
– Abigail Wiebusch, MD
– Vlad Simianu, MD
I am also excited to announce our program chairman for 2024 is Dr. Jonathan Sham. He is board certified in hepatobiliary and complex surgical oncology and practices at UW and Fred Hutch. He will bring great energy and enthusiasm to the programs.
To continue Dr. Biehl’s goal of increasing membership for the Society, we ask our members to continue identifying many existing and new surgical partners (both physicians and APPs) who would benefit from membership.
Our first Monday program will be on April 22nd. Our scientific speaker is Dr. Srinivas Susarla. He is the Surgical Director of the Craniofacial Center at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He will share his insights on the past, present, and future of craniomaxillofacial surgery.
Our after dinner speaker is the legendary Coach Lenny Wilkens. Former basketball player and Coach at the NBA. I’m sure he has some great stories to tell! You won’t want to miss this. We hope to see you at the Rainier Club!
Please feel free to contact me, Sue Lentz, or any board member with questions or suggestions.
Sincerely,
Your President
Andre Dick, MD
